Cage Fabrication, Brooding and Training in Poultry keeping basics

The initial implementation of this project (Small-Scale Commercial Caged Poultry Keeping for supporting Poor Rural Child Education and Nutrition needs) is being supported by Bluebonnet Hills Christian Church of Austin, Texas USA under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Landon S. A couple of activities have been carried out for the past two weeks which include:

(1) Delivering of 52 one-day old chicks into the brooder setup in one of the rooms of our office in Kikandwa village.
(2) Training of school representatives and KIRUCODO staffs into professional poultry keeping basics by a consultant with the utilization of CTA donated publications on poultry keeping and management.
(3) The fabrication of the two cages each with two levels started on a week ago and work will be done towards the end of this week.

In brief, the project business idea is to empower students/pupils with entrepreneur skills through manageable income generating activities to enable them raise funds to cater for the financial challenges they face in obtaining quality education which include feeding but not limited to; clothing, medical, sanitary for girls, scholastic material, among others. The project business products are universally acceptable organic poultry products using the Kuroiler chicken spices. Caged Kuroiler poultry rearing of at least 20 hens and 2 cocks per student plus 20 hens and 2 cocks per teacher of the pilot school will be the business start-up kit.

The two selected pilot schools are Kikandwa Church of Uganda Primary School and Kibiribiri Church of Uganda Primary School. Both schools are public, located in rural communities and accommodate mostly children from families of small-scale farmers. The photo below shows the current state of the pupils in those schools.

  1. I think the Government of every country should make education funding as one of their major priority so as to save the oncoming generation, because i personally believe education is life,so, the government is under obligation to provide the funding of education.
